It’s a good day to be a fan of virtual pets! Following the details revealed about the Digivice V, information about the upcoming Star Wars R2-D2 Tamagotchi has also been announced. It will come in two shells, “Classic White” and “Hologram Blue”.
Bandai has also put out a Japanese trailer for the toy, which we’ve included below:
The device features:
- 9 mini-games (2 unlocked at start)
- 19 skill mode versions of R2-D2
- Pilot mode battleships R2-D2 is riding
- 14 characters from the Star Wars universe can be encountered
R2-D2’s growth works by starting players with a regular R2-D2, which will need to master skills modes and ultimately mature into either a special skill mode or pilot mode. See chart below from the Japanese site:
